Following the initiative of local residents in Neapoli, a cleaning of the PIKPA campground was organized by volunteers . The cleaning took place on the World Environment Day June 5, 2021, with the aim of supporting the already sensitized residents of the area and also sensitizatising all citizens of Lesvos and especially the state mechanisms and other agencies of the island. Our goal is to clean, protect and maintain together with individual responsibility this green area next to our city and a corner of joy for all children and adults. Prevention above all for better quality of life, and protection of the environment!
A big thank you to all the sensitized citizens, our volunteers who attended and supported this effort, to the voluntary organizations that were activated after the call of the civil protection department for Lesvos. Mytilene Hunting Association Lesvos Cycling Association And of course the management of the civil protection of Lesvos region who after contacting us responded positively to providing us with the necessary support.
Finally, we thank the Municipality of Mytilene for its commitment to remove all the materials collected after the cleaning, as well as for providing us with the necessary bags for the collection of materials. * The cleaning had started to be organized by 22/5 and the date was locked in 27/5.
