There are no small deeds…

“There are no small deeds… where there is a need for the help of our fellow citizen… there is always a way to achieve this!!”.

This has been proven by our volunteers for years and an example is the 16th, 17th and 18th of December.

On the last weekend before Christmas, our volunteers went above and beyond and managed to combine the different areas of our team activity to all support the institution – action of our branch “Convoy of Love” for the families and children of the island, with difficulties of living.

The action started on Friday with the Pernod Ricard Hellas company with the continuation of its support! first-aid-awareness-day-at-epom While it continued on Saturday 17th December at the 6th Primary School of Mytilini which, in addition to the huge amount of food collected and delivered to us for the needs of the 100 families that will be helped this Christmas, the parents and guardians’ association also included the HRT of Lesvos in their Christmas celebration in order to highlight the work of the branch. For the needs of the celebration, our volunteer members created the action “the little rescuers save Santa – Saving Santa 2022”.

Through a fun experiential activity, 85 children were informed, sensitized and acted on basic first aid, thus saving all children’s favorite Saint from the nosebleed caused by a careless elf, the near obstruction of the airway due to Santa’s gluttony, the pain caused by a toy he carelessly stepped on, his fainting from fatigue because of the preparations for the trip, and other situations successfully dealt with by groups of children.

With great joy and a lot of fun, the certified members of the Rescue team of the Lesvos branch, disguised themselves for the sake of our little friends and offered the children the knowledge, sensitivity and teamwork they need to save a life. Elements necessary for every age and for every human being.

With great joy and honor, we are proud that under difficult times and unfavorable situations, we have by our side partners and volunteers who envision, support and act under the same purpose of solidarity.
