As every year, the Lesvos Branch of the Hellenic Rescue Team, set up First Aid stations at three different points of the Agiasos ascent for the safe passage of the faithful on foot who pilgrimaged to the Holy Temple of Panayia of Agiasos. 6 certified volunteer rescuers with complete rescue equipment and vehicles, manned the above stations, and successfully dealt with all the minor problems that arose due to the hiking of the faithful and their standing up in church upon theie arrival.
First time this year, due to the collective participation of various volunteer organisations the Hellenic Rescue participated under directions of the General Secretariat of Lesvos Civil Protection in conjunction with the volunteer firefighters of the island of Lesvos. We thank all involved and the pilgrims for the communication and cooperation.
