Defibrillator at the Lesvos Police Department

A Defibrillator at the Lesvos Police Department from the International Police Association and the Hellenic Rescue Team.

An Automated External Defibrillator was handed over on Tuesday, December 21 by the members of the Hellenic Rescue Team – Lesvos Branch – and the Lesvos Local Administration of the International Police Association ( I.P.A ) to the Director of the Lesvos Police Department, whom they ensured through joint actions.

This medical device is to be placed in a suitable area at Mytilene Police Station in order to be immediately available in case of need for both staff and visitors as well as for adjacent services.

The Lesvos Local Administration of the International Police Association, this year, with revenues from its actions, has purchased two more Defibrillators disposed of and placed in public sports facilities in Mytilene, while organising a seminar on first aid and use of Defibrillators. For the purchase of the third Defibrillator handed over to the Lesvos Police Department, the Association collaborated with the Hellenic Rescue Team – Lesvos Branch – that had raised money for this purpose.

As stated in an announcement by the International Police Association, with this initiative which concerns the supply and installation of Defibrillators in key points, it is made an investment in the prevention and shielding of our city, sports facilities and services, with the hope that the use of such devices never becomes necessary.
