SEPTEMBER 7 2019, LESVOS: Members of the Hellenic Rescue Team’s Lesvos branch belonging to the Port Fund’s Oil Cleanup Team were summoned by the Port Authority on Saturday, September 7, to respond promptly to an oil leak from BORDER FORCE “VALIANT” , a Frontex ship with Great Britain flag docked in the Port of Mytilene.
10 volunteers participated, where for 3 days until 9 September, in cooperation with the Port Authority, the Port Fund and the Consulting Group “Metopi Environmental Protection Advisers”, acted immediately and focused in order to contain pollutants inside the suitable absorbent dams and booms.
