It was held with great success on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Gymnasium of Agra, information and exercise on the seismic risk, in the context of an earthquake and preparedness exercise in the school units of Lesvos.
The briefing, which was attended by the students and the educational staff of the school, was carried out by employees of the Directorate of Civil Protection and members of the Hellenic Rescue Team.
The scenario of the exercise that followed included evacuating the school building after the earthquake, extricating and rescuing a student, extinguishing a small fire caused by a falling power cable and finally, providing first aid to a female student who was injured during the evacuation of the building .
The North Aegean Directorate of Civil Protection supervised the exercise, while Civil Protection volunteers and the Hellenic Rescue Team participated.
We would like to warmly thank the school staff and students for their hospitality and excellent cooperation, the Holy Diocese of Mytilene, Eressos and Plomari for providing the mobile coordination center and the volunteers who contributed to the successful completion of the exercise.
