May 19, 2023, The Hellenic Rescue Team Lesvos Branch participated in an operation to rescue two women.
The women were trapped in a difficult place in the “Sarakina” area in Mandamados and for their rescue a large operation was set up in which the fire brigade, the police, the HRT Lesvos and also a Super Puma helicopter took part. The incident was difficult, as one woman was pregnant and with a broken leg.
After locating the place where the women were trapped from HRT members, the firefighters and the Hellenic Rescue Team of Lesbos managed to free them, took them to a safe place and then a Super Puma helicopter approached and took them to Mytilini Airport.
