On Sunday 12/10/2025, The Lesvos branch of the Hellenic rescue team responded to the call of the president of the cooperation department of the Hellenic Guiding Corps, Mrs. Aspa Kotsara, and covered the three-day event of the 39th Panhellenic meeting of cooperation teams that took place in Lesvos with certified volunteer rescuers on issues related to first aid.

We thank the HELLENIC GUIDE CORPS and the president of the cooperation department for the trust they showed in our team.

On Sunday 13/7/2025, the action of the EMPOW3R FORW4RD BY STOIXIMAN Giannis Antetokounmpo program took place at the Tarlas stadium! A program that aims to strengthen and protect the mental health of athletes, coaches, and parents.

The main speaker was Spyros Gianniotis, Olympic champion in the 10-kilometer open water swimming at the 2016 Olympic Games, who spoke to the attendees in a simple and understandable way and answered every question of athletes and parents.

On Monday, Jule 7, at 7:52 p.m., the Lesvos branch of the Hellenic Rescue Team received a call from the central port authority of Mytilene for assistance with a pleasure boat, flagged Turkie, with foreigners on board with engine problem in the sea area southeast of Lesvos and needed assistance.

The Bradford lifeboat with a crew of three immediately sailed from the Mytilene marina and arrived at the scene. The tow boat was tasked to with the tow. We escorted them to the port in case of an emergency.

The Hellenic Rescue Team Branch Lesvos has completed the process of joining the Register of Voluntary Civil Protection Organizations (M.E.O.P.), in accordance with the provisions of Law 4662/2020 and the relevant decision of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
This membership confirms compliance with the prescribed conditions and enables us to participate organizedly and institutionally in the country’s Civil Protection system. It is a recognition of our efforts and strengthens our role in the country’s Civil Protection system

June 10, Tuesday mideday, after contacting the Directore of the General Secretariat. Lesvos Civil Protection, the Disaster Management Department of the Hellenic Rescue Team of Lesvos, was prepared for any involvement in the fires in the area of Gera.

The Branch Operations Management was in the offices of the team and was in constant contact with the person in charge of civil protection of the Region and the Fire Service of Mytilene, early afternoon the team took the order to go to the fire and help.

4 members of the team with firefighting and first aid equipment took part in extinguishing the fire, always under the direction of the fire department.

An important cooperation initiative of the clubs Association of Parents and Guardians The Hellenic Rescue Team Branch Lesvos, in continuation of the collaboration with the Eressos Initiative – Environmental Social, organized on Saturday, May 17 at 17:00. an information and awareness day.

The day was addressed to all citizens, of any age, who wish to be active and belong to the chain of prevention and saving human life.
Within the framework of the day, practical skills workshops were held with the thematic section: “Basic First Aid”, with the aim of informing and raising awareness on issues concerning the risks that pose to human life.

On Saturday, May 3, at 4:52 p.m., the Lesvos branch of the Hellenic Rescue Team received a call from the central port authority of Mytilene for assistance with a Sailing boat, flagged Saint Dominica, with a foreigner on board with engine problem in the sea area southeast of Lesvos and needed assistance.

The Bradford lifeboat with a crew of three immediately sailed from the Mytilene marina and arrived at the scene. At the direction of the field coordinator and after it was ascertained that the occupants were in good health. With the assistance of the HRT vessel and the escort of the PLS, the sailing boat was taken to the marina of Mytilene, where it sailed safely.

As every year in such cases, the Lesvos Branch of the Hellenic Rescue Team, set up First Aid stations at 3 different points of the pilgrimage route to the Holy Pilgrimage for the church of Archangel Michael in Mantamados. This is to ensure the safe hiking of the pilgrims on the eve of the celebration at the Holy Temple in Mantamados on April 15. A total of 10 certified volunteer rescuers with complete rescue equipment and vehicles, manned the above stations, and successfully faced all the minor problems that arose due to hiking, standing and fatigue of the faithful during these 2 days.

This year, for the first time in the framework of the collective effort of the cooperation of Voluntary Organizations of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection North Aegean Region, HRT Lesvos operation was under its instructions and in collaboration with groups belonging to it.

During this activity we tested the Emergency Aid and Coordination Vehicle, an initiative of the Holy Diocese of Mytilene, the Hellenic Rescue Team Lesvos Branch under the coordination of the Civil Protection Directorate of the North Aegean Region and the support of the Mytilene Paratroopers.

We thank all those involved and the pilgrims for their cooperation.

Following a request from the organizers, the Hellenic Rescue Team Department of Lesvos provided first aid coverage for the events of the 4th Love Half Marathon that took place in our city this weekend.
